Fighting Crimes Against Children

Acts of abuse and violence against children result in a lifetime of effects.  Children are the most innocent of victims and often cannot stop the abuse on their own.  Sadly, in Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) situations their abuser may be thousands of miles away.  2020 was a record-breaking year with more than 21.7 million reports of suspected child sexual exploitation made to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) CyberTipline. The 61 ICAC task Forces across the US struggle to keep up with the roughly 29,000 reports received by each ICAC per month; they can use all the help they can get.

Investigating these matters takes a unique skillset that is not taught in Police Academies or to new Officers.  Online investigations require officers to know how the social media services work, the technology of IP addresses, online evidentiary resources, and much more.  This can be overwhelming for many officers causing them to send a case to detectives or forward the case to overwhelmed State and Federal Agencies.

The Heroes Foundation is dedicated to providing officers the training and resources they need to successfully investigate crimes against children.  By empowering officers with knowledge and skills, they can act quickly to capture predators who seek to harm our children, and provide justice to victims.  Your support will directly assist Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Forces across the US in their mission to save children from abuse.  We leverage our close connection with law enforcement agencies to provide resources where they are needed most and train officers to be a force multiplier in crimes against children cases.
